Haitian Prime Minister Garry Conille is firmly opposed to a hasty cabinet reshuffle, as revealed in his recent letter to the President of the Conseil présidentiel de transition (CPT).

In this correspondence, Conille stresses several important points: He insists on the need for a rigorous evaluation of ministers before any changes are made. He asserts that a reshuffle without prior evaluation would risk aggravating the current crisis. Conille maintains that simply changing the government will not solve the country's major problems, including: The situation of the 700,000 internally displaced people Food insecurity affecting 5.5 million people Instead, the Prime Minister calls for a more considered and strategic approach to tackling the country's challenges. He also asked the CPT to deal rapidly with several crucial issues, such as the appointment of directors-general and the establishment of a Provisional Electoral Council. Conille's firm stance was apparently poorly received by the CPT, which reportedly described the letter as "arrogant ". This difference of opinion seems to be creating growing tension between the Prime Minister's Office and the CPT, pointing to a situation of no return between the two bodies.
